LCSD seeks candidates for three board positions

The Liberty Central School District announces three 3-year positions on the Board of Education are up for election this year. Nominating petitions for candidates are now available from District Clerk Tania DeFrank at the Liberty Central School District Office at 115 Buckley Street, Liberty NY, 12754.

The petition, with the signatures and addresses of 25 qualified voters must be filed with the District Clerk no later than Monday April 16th 2012 at 5 p.m.

Qualifications for candidates are:
• Must be able to read and write
• Must be a citizen of the United States
• Must be at least 18 years of age or older
• Must be a qualified voter of the district
• Must be and have been a resident of the school district for a continuous and uninterrupted period of at least one year immediately before to election
• May not have been removed from any school district office within the preceding year
• May not reside with another member of the same school board as a member of the same family
• May not be a current employee of the school board
• May not simultaneously hold another incompatible public office
• No employee of the school district may be a member of the Board
