Liberty Central School District residents are invited to attend a public information session on a proposed $13.6 million phase II capital project on Tuesday, Sept. 23, at 7 p.m. in the Liberty High School Media Center, 125 Buckley St., Liberty. Interested residents can also sign up for small-group tours of facility areas to be renovated under the proposed project. Those tours are planned for early October.
The proposed phase II capital project is designed to address facilities issues and to enhance educational opportunities at Liberty High School. It is a continuation of the preservation and enhancement efforts begun with the phase I capital project approved by voters in 2007. Largely funded by state building aid and capital reserves, the phase II capital project would lead to less than a 1 percent increase in the school tax rate.
Before the upcoming meeting, interested residents can visit the capital project webpage to learn more about the proposed project. Voters will consider the proposition on Tuesday, Oct. 21, from noon to 9 p.m. in the high school gym.
