Elaine has been a member of the Board of Trustees of Russell Sage College and Sullivan County Community College. She was selected as Woman of the Year by the Executive Women of Hospitality in 1991. In 1992 the Penn State Hotel and Restaurant Society honored her as their Executive of the Year.
In addition to her work at the hotel, Elaine was a leading figure in Liberty Central School District’s education system. She served on the Liberty Board of Education for a total of fifteen years. She was also a chairman of the Education Program Committee of the New York State School Boards Association.
The Wall of Fame is located in the lobby of the David E. Panebaker Auditorium at Liberty High School. Additional information about the honorees and the Wall of Fame will be available on www.libertyk12.org.
The Wall of Fame provides a wonderful opportunity to honor and celebrate the outstanding accomplishments of the graduates of the school district and the daughters and sons of our community. The distinguished alumni named to the Wall of Fame represent an extraordinary range of personal and professional achievements. It is our hope that such recognition will inspire current students to their own achievement in school and beyond.
As a school district that continually strives to instill in its students the concepts of achievement and excellence, the Wall’s inductees serve as exceptional role models. Their personal accomplishments, either to their individual fields of endeavor or to the broader community, exemplify what our students may attain through initiative and commitment.
