LHS Interact Club hosts inaugural volleyball tournament

LHS Interact Club hosts volleyball tournamentThe Liberty High School Interact Club held its inaugural volleyball tournament on Saturday, Dec. 3 to raise money for two of its international projects: The Haiti Clean Water Project and The STEP (Steps to End Poverty) Program in Vietnam. A total of seven teams signed up for the inaugural volleyball tournament for LHS Interact.

Between admission, concessions and donations from Dunkin Donuts, Paesano's Pizzeria, Last Licks, McDonald's and Pizza Hut, the club raised just over $300.

A total of seven teams took part in the tournament and represented the Liberty, Monticello Livingston Manor and Fallsburg school communities. The final match was between Monticello and Fallsburg. After a tight match, Fallsburg took home the victory.

The Interact Club would like to extend its thanks to the students, parents and community members who attended the new annual event. A special thank you goes to Mr. Molusky for volunteering his time to organize the games and serve as ref! Thank you to all the Rotarians who attended, including Jack Strassman, Gary Silver, Tony Sinacore, Dan Parkhurst, Jack Etter and Susan Kraycer.
