SEVEN LIBERTY STUDENTS INDUCTED INTO CAREER & TECHNICAL HONOR SOCIETY

Liberty is proud to announce that the National Career & Technical Honor Society has inducted seven Liberty High School students in five programs:

Leanna Bolster – Animal Science
Megan Sauer – Community-based Work Program
Carolyn Carrier – Cosmetology
Roothland Medina – Health Academy
Marisol Serapio – Health Academy
Lynna Pedroza – Health Occupations
Vincente Ramos – Health Occupations

The Honor Society inducted a total of 29 students in a candlelight ceremony on May 29, according to Honor Society Adviser Deborah Heidt-Dunwell.

Being named to the Honor Society is no small feat. The students must maintain an average of 90 or better for at least 2 ½ quarters in the Career & Technical program and a grade-point average of at least 80 in academics in their home schools. They must not exceed five absences from class, and they must be actively involved in their school and their community.

To apply, students must write an essay about themselves and gather letters of recommendation from three sources not affiliated with BOCES. Finally, they go through a 10- to 15-minute interview with guidance counselors and the adviser.

The Liberty community applauds the achievements of the Honor Society inductees.
