• Registration: There are open slots available for the 2026-27 pre-kindergarten class, and a lottery will not take place. Remaining seats will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis. Kindergarten registration is also now open. Find more information about registration for the programs here.
  • Construction update: Construction work has begun on the maintenance building. The walkway behind the district office from Winthrop Avenue to the high school is closed until further notice. Also, the athletic field and track area is no longer accessible to the public.  The area will be closed as construction continues. The soccer fields remain open.

Long Range Goals


Goal 1: MTSS

Student Achievement

Maximize the graduation rate by utilizing a MTSS framework that supports a conducive learning environment and by developing research-based intervention programs and strategies to diagnostically identify and assist student needs. This will promote the use of a rigorous core curriculum aligned to Next Generation Standards, providing equitable educational opportunities for all students.

Priority
  • Monitor leading indicators to identify at-risk students.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive intervention strategies and pathways to promote success for at-risk and advanced students.
  • Implement district and school-wide strategies to increase prosocial behaviors, reduce bullying, and create a safe, supportive learning environment.
  • Increase opportunities to provide students with future-based skills in preparation for college and career readiness.

GOAL 2: Culture/Coherence

Student Achievement

Increase student achievement and teacher success through a student focused culture using  systematic data analysis that initiates instructional improvement and enhances student performance.

Priority
  • Provide professional learning opportunities to train teachers in the Next Generation Standards and related curriculum and instructional shifts.
  • Increase data literacy of administrators and teachers.
  • Utilize DILT, BILT, PLC, and Facilitator teams to analyze district, building, departmental, and student data.
  • Provide staff time for meaningful conversations about data driven instruction. Administrators and teachers will use a data-analysis protocol to create strategies to improve student performance.

GOAL 3: Curriculum

Educational Instruction and Programs

Increase student achievement by aligning course curricula to the Next Generation Learning Standards. With the use of the technology integration and research -based instructional practices in the classroom, the district will foster the growth of future forward skills.

Priority
  • All administrators and teachers will integrate technology based applications and practices in the classroom to support student learning.
  • Vertically and horizontally articulating the District’s curriculum by implementing accessible curriculum maps.
  • Offer STEAM, enrichment, acceleration, and interdisciplinary learning opportunities for students in core and non-core areas.

GOAL 4: FISCAL

Fiscal Responsibility

The Board of Education will ensure that the Liberty Central School District is fiscally sound and will responsibly support the district’s goals and priorities.

Priority
  • Explore innovative cost saving measures (ie. grants) while maintaining quality educational programs for all students.
  • Focus on annual capital outlay projects to improve the physical plant.
  • To the use of our current educational space, the district will complete a capital project to increase district capacity.
  • Relocate the buildings and grounds department in order to establish the Liberty High School Innovation Lab.
  • Develop a 5-year fiscal plan for the district.
